Q: |
How much does it cost for a
custom set of graphics? |
A: |
Cost depends on a couple of
factors:
How many colors are involved and the
size of your graphics.
For each color in your scheme we
have to make a color plate that we
can print from. The cost per plate
is $28. So if you had three colors
to reproduce the plate cost would be
$84. There would also be a printing
charge of $25 per sheet. For orders
with more than one color there is
also a $50 min. computer time
charge.
The size is also a factor, our
printing area is 8 x 10.5 inches,
about the size of a standard letter
size piece of paper. Sometimes your
graphics may take 3 or 4 sheets to
produce, in this case we try to get
as many of the same colors on one
sheet to reduce the plate charges.
Our average orders for custom
graphics are around $250-$350. Until
we see and size your graphics we
can't give an accurate estimate. |
Q: |
What do I need to send you to get
started? |
A: |
You can send us photos,
documentation, drawings, plans even
computer files, as long as we can
see it we can reproduce it. We also
need a fuse length and wingspan from
your model. Once we have this
information we will put it on the
computer and size it. When finished
we will send you computer generated
proofs and pricing info of your
order for you to check and fit to
your model. If there are any changes
that we need to make or alter you
will notify us, this will help to
insure that the graphics are correct
before we actually start to print
them. |
Q: |
How long does it take? |
A: |
All orders are received on a first
come first served basis, so
depending on how busy we are, orders
generally take about 2-3 weeks after
we receive your approved proof
sheet. |
Q: |
How long will they last until I use
them? |
A: |
The markings will last a long time
if stored in a cool dry place, lying
flat and without anything setting on
top of them. It is best to keep them
undisturbed in the box they came
from until you are ready to use
them. Ordering the markings should
be done no more than a couple of
months before you are ready to apply
them. Gentle heat will reactivate
the glue and make the markings more
flexible. |
Q: |
I designed my scheme on my computer,
can I send it to you to work from? |
A: |
Yes, if you saved it in a format
that we can use. We are working in
Corel Draw 12 and this is our
preferred format. However, we are
sometimes able import from such
programs as, Adobe Illustrator (.ai
and .eps files), Adobe Photoshop (.psd),
and some word processing formats
like Word (.doc). if you are unsure
of which format to use, call us at
618-742-6430. Be sure and include
any fonts that you might have used
to create your file that are not of
a common type. You can also e-mail
the file to us at

Q: |
Do I need to use a clearcote over my
graphics? |
A: |
No, you don't. Our markings are the
only fuel proof transfers on the
market, this means that you don't
have to worry about fuel smearing
your graphics or accidentally wiping
them away. HOWEVER, If you don't use
a clear cote the graphics can get
scratched or nicked from normal use. |
Q: |
What if I my graphics are bigger
than your 8 x 10.5 printing sheet? |
A: |
The bigger the graphics, the harder
they are to put on, for this reason
we recommend letting us make paint
masks. If you can use an airbrush or
paint gun, you can use our paint
masks. They are computer generated
just like our normal dry transfers.
These however, are cut out of vinyl
and used as a stencil. Simply lay
them in place, spray your color, let
dry for a few minutes and peel away,
it's that easy. |
